ICORE - Fall 2023
I-Core is a junior-level undergraduate program at IUPUI that integrates Marketing, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Team Dynamics and Leadership into a cohesive block unit. A key component of I-Core is a cross-functional, semester-long project where student teams apply these disciplines to develop a startup.

In the Fall 2023 Honors I-Core section, students are focused on creating startups centered around Artificial Intelligence-driven products.

Our team has founded HumanityAID AI™, a company dedicated to enhancing the impact of NGOs and their volunteers. Our flagship product, VolunteerUnited, is an AI-powered application designed to optimize volunteer performance and productivity in the field.

Reflection
articipating in Honors I-Core at IUPUI has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding academic experiences of my undergraduate journey. The program's integration of Marketing, Finance, Operations & Supply Chain Management, and Team Dynamics & Leadership provided a holistic understanding of business strategy and the complexities of entrepreneurship. More than just a series of courses, I-Core pushed me to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

The semester-long startup project was the true highlight of this experience. Our team developed HumanityAID AI™, a company focused on empowering NGOs and their volunteers through Artificial Intelligence. Through this venture, we created VolunteerUnited, an AI-powered application designed to enhance volunteer performance and efficiency in the field. This process required extensive research, market analysis, financial planning, and cross-functional collaboration—all of which deepened my understanding of how different business disciplines intersect to create a viable product.

Beyond the technical knowledge, I-Core reinforced my ability to work in a high-pressure, team-driven environment. Navigating the complexities of startup development, balancing differing perspectives, and ensuring effective communication were invaluable lessons that I will carry forward into my professional career. It also underscored the power of innovation and technology in addressing global challenges, inspiring me to seek opportunities where business and social impact intersect.

This experience has not only strengthened my confidence in problem-solving, leadership, and strategic thinking but has also reaffirmed my passion for creating solutions that make a tangible difference. As I move forward, I am excited to apply these skills in future roles and continue leveraging AI-driven innovations for meaningful impact.
